Ice Storm and Your Bill
Below are some examples of electric and water use during the Ice Storm Uri that may impact your bill. To view your electric and water usage, go to MY ACCOUNT. (Existing customers may need to re-enroll in our new self-service system.)
ELECTRIC
As the temperatures dropped down to the 20s and 30s, electric use increased during those days.
EXAMPLE: 2,400 sq. foot – All electric home
Energy use in kWh

Energy costs in dollars – Cost ranged from $4 – $14 per day during regular weather to $16 – $30 per day during the ice storm event.

EXAMPLE: 1,200 sq. foot – All electric home – New Construction

Energy costs in dollars – Cost ranged from $3 – $8 per day during regular weather to $9 – $15 per day during the ice storm event.

EXAMPLE: 1 bedroom – All electric apartment

Energy costs in dollars – Cost ranged from $1 – $2.20 per day during regular weather to $5 – $8 per day during the ice storm event.

WATER & WASTEWATER

Use ranged from 0 – 15 gallons an hour during regular use to 280 – 470 gallons an hour during the leak.

Water cost during the day of the leak – Costranged from $0.05 – $0.08 an hour during regular use to $0.45 – $0.80 an hour during the leak.

Wastewater cost during the day of the leak

Customers that repaired a broken water line, can request an adjustment on their wastewater charges by submitting a Wastewater Adjustment Form.
