Our Name

Lafayette Utilities System is a system of utilities services provided to and owned by the people of Lafayette.  More commonly, people know us as LUS.  Because of this, members of the public and the media sometimes get our full name wrong.  It is proper to refer to Lafayette Utilities System on the first reference and LUS on every reference after the first.

It is incorrect to refer to LUS as Lafayette Utility System, Lafayette Utility Systems or Lafayette Utilities Systems.  It is also improper to use L.U.S.

LUS Fiber

LUS Fiber is a division of Lafayette Utilities System that provides video, Internet and phone service to residents and businesses over the city’s only 100% fiber optic network.  It is proper to refer to LUS Fiber in all references.

It is incorrect to refer to LUS Fiber as Lafayette Utilities System Fiber.
